| The majority of us send quite normal packages through the post such as books, CDs, clothes, photos etc. Or we may order online things like car/bike parts, electrical equipment, collectable things among other normal things. But there are also parcels sent through the post that would shock you, make you laugh or just scratch your head. Here is a few examples of the more interesting things delivered by the postman.
1.A package received from Hong Kong looked innocent enough, it was marked "personal clothing." But when customs officials opened it, they were stunned to see about 300 live scorpions and spiders.
The scorpions and spiders, some of which were tarantulas, were packed in nets, bottles and transparent plastic boxes and hidden amongst clothes and paper. A bit of a shock for whoever discovered them.
2.Two students apparently sent a live hamster through the post as a drunken prank. The hamster found in a post box is now named First Class. And he's very lucky to be alive. Apparently if he hadn't gnawed through the envelope and been spotted by the postman, he might have died in the sorting machine.
3.A recently separated man received a card through his door stating that the postage had not been paid on a package addressed to him. After paying the £7 postage he opened the package to find a house brick. He could only assume it was some nasty prank paid by his ex!
4.A young girl received a plastic alligator from her mum who saw it and thought of her!
5.A young man apparently for a joke sent random things through the post to random addresses. One of them was a letter containing a unused tea bag and a note saying "put the kettle on" or another was to eat a bag of crisps then post the empty packet to the first address he could think of and pop a note in saying "put this in the bin when your passing".
He said he hoped that whoever got them found it funny. Well it made me laugh!
6.Dead animals are quite often sent by parcel delivery to taxidermists. Quite unpleasant if the package is damaged and the contents come out.
7.A company in America for a sum of $29,000 will mail out a fully assembled wedding chapel.
8.Another company will send you a nude suit. Clothing that mimics the naked body. Why? Well that’s anybody’s guess.
